See and Do Together

Sleep in this morning; it's going to be a late night. Dress casual and comfortable for your leisurely late morning meander through one of the City's neighborhoods, to do like the locals do on Sunday mornings: sip lattes and nibble croissants (or indulge on omelets and some serious French Toast), read the paper and watch the neighborhood go by.

Buy flowers: Visit the San Francisco Flower Mart and pick out a bunch yourself. Spontaneously buy a bunch from a sidewalk vendor (highly recommended). Order in advance for delivery to your hotel from FTD or The Flower Shop of San Francisco.

Buy a gift for no reason: If you're out of ideas, head for a nice-looking store (like one of the department stores at Union Square) and ask for help.

Watch the Sunset: There are lots of good places for sunsets in San Francisco. Try Coit Tower, the top of Telegraph Hill or Crissy Field, or arrange for a sunset airplane flight. The Marina and Crissy Field provide a west-facing view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Get a massage: It's easy to feel romantic when you're relaxed. The Ritz-Carlton hotel has a spa on the premises, or visit a day spa.

Walk on the beach: If you're feeling adventurous, there are several nude beaches in the area, try Baker Beach below the Presidio for a nice view of the Golden Gate Bridge (albeit from the west), or Ocean Beach near the Cliff House. Ocean Beach has a west-facing view.

Listen to classical music: If classical music turns you on, get tickets for the San Francisco Symphony or the San Francisco Opera, or tune to a classical radio station.

Enjoy a short, scenic boat ride over, then wander the prison cell blocks at Alcatraz.

Climb all over the collection of historical vessels moored at Hyde Street Pier

Experience a simulated earthquake, watch Blackfooted Penguins swim underwater, and gaze at the nighttime skies in a show at Northern California's largest planetarium -- all at the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park.

Have fun and learn about science at the same time at the cavernous Exploratorium.

Take a whirl on an antique carousel in Golden Gate Park, then frolic for a while at adjacent Children's Playground -- the first public playground in a US park.
